Elizabeth Jane Prater Sheppard

Elizabeth Jane Prater Sheppard, age 87, was born on September 19, 1935 and went to be with her heavenly father on Saturday, May 13, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vic and Cladie Prater; daughters, Mona Thomas and Ann Mutter; thirteen siblings; granddaughter, Ruthie Tolbert; great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Rose Clay.

She is survived by her three daughters, Monica Mann of Abingdon, VA, Jeannie Vanhoozer of Tannersville, VA, Lorie Cardenas of Abingdon, VA; son, Billy Sheppard of Saltville, VA; fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great- grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth was a true and faithful servant of God. The family thanks God for the gift of having her as a part of their lives. They have truly been blessed thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ.

A graveside service will take place at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Mount Rose Cemetery with Pastor Daniel Duff officiating. Everyone is asked to please meet at the cemetery.
