Elsie Helton Galliher, age 82, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2026.

Elsie had a deep interest in genealogy and spent many hours researching and preserving her family's history. She was a talented production worker and worked for many years at Roanoke Fashion in Chilhowie as well as Natalie's Knitting. Before her illness, she attended Primitive Baptist Church in Tumbling Creek and found great comfort in her church family and her faith.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation and special thanks to Anna Vernon at Valley Health & Rehab.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. "Jimmy" Galliher; daughter, Gail Renee Henderson; parents, John and Clara Aistrop Helton; and brother, Virgil Helton.

Elsie is survived by her son, Tony Galliher of Saltville, Va.; daughter, Angela Leal and husband David, of Chester, Va.; son-in-law, Mark Henderson of Chilhowie, Va.; sisters, Dorothy Heath, Eula Terry and Edith Price all of Saltville, Va.; four granddaughters, Brittany Henderson, April Leal, Brandy Leal and Amanda Leal; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many other loving family members.

The family will receive friends Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Henderson Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ray Wolford officiating. Graveside services will follow at Mount Rose Cemetery, 10069 Crescent Rd, Glade Spring, VA 24340.

Serving as pallbearers will be Daryl Heath, Brian Helton, Dylan Hanes, Skyler Price, and Austin Stanley.
