Cowpens, SC Elsie Marie McElraft, age 84, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022. She was born in Rich Valley, Va. and lived in Smyth County, Va. prior to moving to South Carolina. She was a Christian and a member of Mount Pleasant Union Church. Elsie lived in Cowpens, SC and worked at Raycord Shirt Factory as an inspector. She also worked many years in health care as a CNA caring for elderly. Elsie loved gardening, her home, and taking care of her family. She enjoyed walking 6 miles a day in the park for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Bessie D. Harris; sisters, Mary Hicks, Gladys Ursula Harris, Nene Havens, and Irene Collins; brothers, John Henry Harris, Jerome Harris, James Harris, Walter Harris, and Harold Harris. She is survived by her husband, Robert J. McElraft (Bobby); daughter, Beverly Nichols; son, Joey McElraft and wife Eugenia; grandsons, Matthew Nichols and wife Rebecca, and Daniel Nichols; sister, Rosa Marie Roarke; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022, at D. R. Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Garrett officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Saltville, Va. The family will receive friends from 12 until the time of the services.
