Chilhowie, VA Esther Wallin Derr, born 1936, daughter of the late E.Z. and Ola Farmer Wallin entered her heavenly home on May 11, 2021. She was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church in Chilhowie. Those gone before her were husband Sam; brothers, Talmadge, Jack, Gerald, Norman Moses; and sister Ruth. She is survived by son, John; sister, Doris; and many friends and relatives. She was a graduate of Chilhowie High School and relocated to Tennessee to further her education. She later became a registered nurse and experimented many enjoyable years being employed at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Veterans Medical Center. She was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church in Chilhowie. The family thanks her pastor Hank and Church family for their loving support. We also would like to thank the doctors and nurses who cared for her. To honor her wishes, there will be a private burial at the McClure Cemetery with no Services.
