Obituary

Saltville, VA Evelyn Maybelle Heath Cardwell, November 1, 1937- December 29,2020, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Evelyn was full of life and love and never met a stranger. Anyone that was around her knew how much she loved Jesus and her family. Evelyn loved to draw and would draw pictures and send them to family and friends letting them know she was thinking of them and praying for them. Family was everything to Evelyn. Anytime family could gather together there would be lots of laughter and fun. Evelyn loved to laugh, dance and sing. She loved writing songs and playing the piano. She was so creative and would find a use for anything lying around. She was known for her miniature houses and bathrooms and pictures of these miniature creations were published in the local newspaper. Evelyn was a true testimony of her faith. She is going to be missed by many, especially her family but we find peace knowing she is rejoicing in heaven. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents William Heath and Annie Johnson Heath; her loving husband of 39 years, Elmer G. Cardwell, Sr.; son, Allen Wayne Cardwell: sister Helen Sweat; and brother Carl Cardwell. Those left to treasure her memories are her children Elmer G. Cardwell, Jr. and wife Betty; Debra Cardwell Tuggle; Steve Cardwell and wife Lisa; James (Jimmy) Cardwell and wife Lori; and Elmer Sr's son Mike White. Grandchildren; Christie Cardwell Hayton (David); Brian Cardwell (Christy Johnson); Jamie Rose; Trevor Cardwell (Rachel); Cory Cardwell; Chelsey Cardwell (Da'von Keith); Santana Cardwell and Joy Franklin. 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Siblings Tom Heath, Victoria Cuddy, Leon Heath (Faye), Lois Chapman (Franklin) and J.C. (Katherine) Heath; sister-in-law Annie Mae "Frog" Cardwell; special friends Laura Hensley and Shirley Brown and many nieces and nephews.
