Glade Spring, VA Evelyn Hickey Lowery, age 92, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Johnston memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Ann Price Hickey. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, John Conley Sheets and husband Kermit "Doc" Lowery; four sisters, Eula Gates, Louella Eller, Ruby Caywood, and Roberta Owens. She is survived by her sons, Steven Sheets, Edward Sheets and wife Joan; daughter, Patty Sheets Thompson and husband Mike; sister, Christine Wallace; grandchildren, Mike Sheets and wife Stacy, Amanda Sheets Alsbrook and husband Rick, Marcus Sheets, Crystal Thompson Torbett and husband Phillip, Kelsey Thompson Spell, Sherri Thompson Keller and husband Cliff, and Michelle Thompson Manuel and husband Chris; great grandchildren, Cody and Danielle Sheets, Ally Manuel, Jasmine Keller, Carissa Keller, Corabeth Torbett, Waylon Torbett and Hadley Spell; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Lowery worked several years at S.W. State Hospital in Marion, VA, she was a life time member of the D.A.V Women's Auxiliary, and her hobbies were singing and gardening. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Mount Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring, VA.
