Obituary

Bristol, Virginia

On May 5, 2026, Frankie Johnson Hunt, Jr. entered into eternal rest and into the presence of his Savior. A devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and faithful servant of the Lord, he leaves behind a legacy of strength, faith, and unwavering love.

A devout Christian, Frankie carried his love for the Lord throughout his life. His faith guided the way he loved his family, treated others, and lived each day with gratitude and purpose. He believed deeply in God, family, hard work, and kindness toward others.

He loved life and adventure and lived life to the fullest. He was a strong leader for his family, a loyal husband to his beloved wife, a steadfast brother, a proud father to his sons, and a gentle, loving grandfather to his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his strength, wisdom, and the love he showed to those around him.

He was a member of Tennessee Avenue Baptist Church, where he faithfully served the Lord for over 35 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frankie Hunt, Sr. and Lona Mae Hunt.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Becky Ann Hunt; his brother, Robbie Hunt and wife, Tabitha; his sons, Caleb Hunt and wife Rachael, along with their son Camden Hunt; and David Hunt and wife Sarah, along with their children Jon David Hunt and Claire Hunt.

Though his family mourns his passing, they rejoice in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ and find peace knowing he has heard the words, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant."

His memory, faith, and love will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

The family will receive friends Monday, May 11, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at D.R. Henderson Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Joey Cole officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Rose Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be his two sons, Caleb and David Hunt; Robbie Hunt; Campbell Buchanan; Dennis and Jacob Heninger; and Mark Debord.
