Geneva Haynes Louthen passed away on July 4, 2025 at the age of 96. She grew up on a farm in Blackwell Chapel in Washington County Virginia. She was the oldest child of the late Houston and Virgie McNew. She was a faithful member as long as she was able of the Allison Gap First Church of God.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Dexter Haynes; her son, Bill Haynes; daughter, Lori Ann Lynch; son-in-law, Rudy Anderson; and two sisters, Myrtle McNew and Georgia Holmes.

She is survived by her husband, Tommy Louthen; her two daughters, Sue Anderson and Martha Rickman (Carl); daughter-in-law, Sue Haynes; son-in-law, Bryan Lynch; her six grandchildren, Farrah Durlock (Jeff), Drew Anderson (Stephanie), Brandi Atkins (Dave), Evan Rickman, Kelley Haynes, and Landon Smith (Carol); four great-grandchildren, Owen and Blake Anderson, and Kate and Emmi Smith; brothers, Roy and Allen McNew; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friend, Mildred Allison.

The family would also like to thank her caregivers, Debbie, Rosa, and Billie, as well as MSA Hospice.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday July 6, 2025 at Henderson Funeral Home with  Pastor David Mumpower officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service. The burial will follow at Blackwell Chapel Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.
