Georgia Stewart Allison
Saltville, VA
Georgia Stewart Allison, age 97, departed from her earthly home on October 22, 2024 and has gone to walk the streets of gold in her heavenly home. She was born August 4, 1927, in Saltville, Virginia to the late Albert & Myrtle Stewart. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, whose warm heart and caring nature touched everyone around her. Georgia was a Christian woman who lived her faith daily. She was a longtime attendee of the Church of God of Prophecy, where her presence and godly example were a blessing to many. Known for her loving nature, Georgia was a worrier by heart, always concerned about the well-being of those she loved. A truly one-of-a-kind woman, Georgia had an independent and feisty personality, earning her the affectionate title of "Queen Bee" in the family. She loved nothing more than taking care of her family and was an exceptional cook who always made sure everyone was well-fed. Her Sunday dinners were a family tradition, and her famous cornbread was adored by all.
Her strength, love, and devotion will never be forgotten. She leaves behind a family who will forever remember her warmth, her delicious meals, and the joy she brought to their lives.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence O. Allison; six brothers, John Stewart, Howard Stewart, James Stewart, Ray Stewart, Charlie Stewart, and Rush Stewart; and seven sisters, Cora Tolbert, Lottie Hogston, Lily Powers, Maggie Smith, Ocie Surber, Roxie Cardwell, and Dora Swiney.
Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Patty Crouse and husband Roger, and Amy McVey and husband Bryant; her son, Walter Allison; her grand-fur baby, Maci, whom she loved with all her heart; special caregiver, Darlene Fullen; sister-in-law, Betty Allison; several nieces and nephews; special friends, who called or came by the home on a regular basis, Anna Mae "Frog" Cardwell, Minnie "Tick" Minton, Zelda Nutter, Charles "BudCat" Frye, Peggy Hogston, Barry "BearBoy" Davidson, R.L. "Popeye" Frye, Gary Whitt & sister-in-law, Mildred Allison; and her "girls," Karen, Heather, Kelsey, Tammy, & Megan
The family would like to extend their appreciation for the many home visits & prayers given by Pastors, Roger O'Quinn, Bobby Collins, Greg Carrico, & James Gentry and also a special thanks to Ballad Health Hospice.
Following her wishes a graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at the Allison Family Cemetery with Rev. R.L. Frye, and Pastor Roger O'Quinn officiating. Everyone is asked to please meet at the cemetery. Barry "Bearboy" Davidson, Eddie Frye, Gary Whitt, Derek Cardwell, Larry Ledbetter, and David Colley will be serving as pallbearers.
