Georgia Elizabeth Gregory, age 85, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2024. She was known to a lot of people as Georgie, mom, grandma and chubbs.  She was born June 21, 1939 to Georgia Pickett and Estil Rhea in Smyth County, Va. Georgia came from a big family and was the 14th out of 15 siblings!

Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard William Gregory; 14 siblings; and her daughter, Regina.

Georgia had many hobbies, from having beautiful flowers in and outside her house, collecting angel figurines, working on her word books, watching her soap operas, or even watching a good 'ole western. During the summer months she loved going to yard sales, auctions, and going to the different local carnivals to listen to music. Her most beloved hobby of all was spending time with her family. Whether it be cookouts, going out to lunch, taking the kids to the park or just hanging around the house with them.

Georgia spent her last few years in Hagerstown surrounded by family. Every Sunday she would have dinner with her kids and some of her grandkids and great grandkids.

Left to cherish her memory are sons, Jimmy and Howard; daughters, Reethia, and Teresa, and  an adopted a son, Julio.  Jimmy and his wife Melody have three daughters and six grandkids. Howard, and his wife Carla, have two daughters and 1 grandson; Reethia, and her husband Mark, have two daughters and four grandkids. Teresa has three kids and eleven grandkids. And Regina had 3 kids and six grandkids. That is a total of 13 grandkids and 28 great grandkids! She was surrounded by a loving family!

Funeral services for Georgia Gregory will be conducted at 1:00 on Friday, November 15, 2024, at Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville, Va. with Pastor Daniel Garrett officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.  Burial will follow at Mount Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring, Va.  Those serving as pallbearers will be; Doug Bailey, Addison McCoubrey, Antonio Orellana, Jose Orellana, Andrew Scott, and Julio Ventura.
