Gerald Wayne Barker, age 68, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2026, following a brief illness.

Gerald was a simple man who found his greatest enjoyment in the comforts of home and life on the farm. He had a special appreciation for antiques and enjoyed collecting pieces that caught his eye over the years. Gerald also had a talent for working with his hands and took great pride in restoring old tools, bringing them back to their original condition and giving them new life. Gerald was deeply loved by his family and friends, and his presence will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his son, Craig Barker; parents, Coy and Ruby Barker; sisters, Shirley, Betty, and Margaret; and brother Robert Barker.

Gerald is survived by his sons, Colin Wayne Barker and Cliffton Coy Barker of Glade Spring, VA; brothers, Coy and David Barker; sister, Mary Barker Loudermilk; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Bryan McCray and Sandy Shupe.

There will be no public services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those wishing to do so make memorial contributions to the funeral home to help offset the final expenses.
