Geraldine Wyatt Collins, age 89, passed away at her home Tuesday, December 17, 2024. She was born on July 24, 1935, in Rich Valley to the late Oscar Stone Wyatt, Sr. and Georgia Criger Wyatt. She was a simple lady. Geraldine was a member of Saltville Church of Christ. She loved to cook and have family gatherings at her home. Geraldine enjoyed canning the vegetables that her husband grew in his garden. She enjoyed feeding and watching birds and she loved pink flamingos. Most of all, she loved taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Collins, brothers, Oscar Wyatt, Jr., Houston Wyatt, and Clifton Wyatt.
Left to cherish her memory, are her children, Brenda Harris and husband Philip, Eddie Collins and wife Hope, Jane Collins (Scotty Johnson), and Janet Gillespie; sisters, Marie Blevins of Marion, VA, and Shirley Guinn of New Market, TN; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Geraldine Collins will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 20, 2024, at Henderson Funeral Home with Preacher Philip Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Elizabeth Cemetery in Saltville, VA. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Grandsons will service as pallbearers.
