Gladys V. Handley, age 83, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023 at Doeys Hospice House in Hagerstown, Maryland. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, Robert M. Holmes and Lessie Dunford Holmes; sisters, Annie Mae Garza, and Clara Belle Felty.

She is survived by her husband, John Joseph Handley; brothers, Thurman Dale Holmes, Harless Lee Holmes, Mike Holmes, Mark, Holmes, and Matthew Holmes; her daughter, Stacey Cain and husband Lee; grandchildren, Kensley Marie Cain and Bridger LeRoy Cain; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville, Va. with Pastor Todd Asbury officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 until 1:00 prior to the service. Burial will follow at Mount Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring, Va.
