Gracie Marie Holmes, age 79, went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, November 21, 2023. Gracie was preceded in death by her parents, Ida and Joseph Surber; brother, Tom Surber; and sister, Louise Miller.

She is survived by her husband, Thurman (Bud) Holmes; daughter; Rose Bush; sons, Kenneth Holmes and wife Mary, David Holmes and wife Debbie; grandchildren, David Holmes, Jr., Tony Bush, and Dillon Holmes and wife Savannah; great grandchildren, Kade and Finn Holmes; brothers, Eddie, Jimmy, and William (Buddy) Surber; sisters, Pauline (Peanut) Mobley, and Carol Brown; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Adoration Church of God, 52 Old Airport Road, Bristol, VA. with Pastor Todd Asbury officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. A graveside service will follow at Mount Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring, VA. Pallbearers will be Eddie Surber, Jimmy Surber, Kenneth Holmes, Dillon Holmes, David Holmes, Jr. and David Holmes, Sr. Honorary pallbearer will be Mike Holmes.
