Harold Bryant McAllister, age 66, passed away Monday, January 5, 2026 at Johnston Memorial Hospital.

Harold was born December 20, 1960 to the late Malcolm McAllister and Peggy Helton.

Harold was a graduate of Radford University receiving a B.S. degree and a minor in P.E.  He was a very social person and never met a stranger.  He was an avid football fan and loved the Georgia "Dawgs".  Harold was an assistant softball coach and a substitute P. E. teacher.  He loved attending cookouts and eating good food.  Most of all he was a family man and loved his daughters and grandchildren.  He also loved his fur babies, Hank and Jax.

Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Darrell McAllister, and daughter, Alexandria.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Jessica Burgess (Justin), and Amber McAllister (Shane Snead); grandchildren, Kaylynn Morris, Cameron Morris, Olivia Mitchell, Will Morris, Owen Mitchell, Carson Morris, and Whitley Burgess; best friends, Cindy Keesee, Brenda Trent, Sherry Call, and "Alabama Fan" Darren Blevins; special friend, Janie Zelle; and many more friends and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2026 at Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor Barry Loupe officiating.  Burial will follow at Elizabeth Cemetery in Saltville, Va.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.  Those serving as pallbearers will be Justin Burgess, Shane Snead, Jimmy Ledbetter, Jack and Danny Blevins.

The family would like thank the JMH nursing staff of the PCU, CCU, and 4th floor for all the wonderful care they provided.
