Chilhowie, VA Henry R. Griffey, age 88, passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Valley Health Care Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Lula Griffey; his wife of 67 years, Daisy E. Griffey; infant son, Jerry Lee; two sons Michael Dean, and Mark Kevin. Henry is survived by his daughter, Regina Frye; son, Roy B. "Cotton" Holmes and wife Donna; one brother, John Griffey and wife Judy; one sister, Ruth Cregger; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren; and special caregiver, Delores Guy; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at Mount Pleasant Cemetery with Pastor Doug Hagy officiating. The family will be receiving friends at D.R.
