Herbert "Herbie" Wayne Poore, age 49, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023. Herbie was born on August 24, 1973 in Abingdon, Va. He was a 1991 graduate of Patrick Henry Highschool where he was a standout football player. He was a truck driver for Todd's Fuel in Saltville, Va. for over 25 years. Anytime you would see Herbie he was always wearing a smile. He didn't know a stranger, and always made it a point to speak to everyone who came across his path. Herbie was a dedicated husband, father, and brother. His children were his pride and joy. He was always there to support them in any way that he could. From barrel racing to softball, he was always present in his children's lives. One of Herbie's favorite hobbies was cooking, he loved to grill and feed his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Diane DeBusk Poore; and his grandmother, Geneva DeBusk.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 12 years of marriage, Joy Harris Poore; his father, Herbert Poore, Jr. and wife Donna; four children, Kristen Norris, Logan Harris and wife Caitlin, Nathan Roop, and Elaina Poore; two sisters, Nichole and Duwana Poore; four grandchildren, Oliver Harris, Lukas Norris, Layla Norris, and Kayle Norris; special aunt, Brenda "Susie" DeBusk; and niece, Kensley.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at the Poore Family Cemetery located at 32438 Clinchburg Road, Meadowview, Va. The family will be receiving friends from 11:30 until 1:30 p.m. prior to the procession to the cemetery.
