Iva June Whitlock, age 94, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022, near her home in Ridgely, Maryland. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, a proud grandmother and great-grandmother. June was preceded in death by her parents, Ivory Blanche and Jerome David Hatfield, her husband, Billy Joe Whitlock, and her siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Edith Ann Barrett and husband John of Ridgely, MD; her grandson, Ryan Barrett and wife Cassandra and great-granddaughter Freya of Chestertown, MD; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a chihuahua named Bantam who misses his snuggle buddy greatly. Although she lived in Maryland for the past 15 years, she always kept a special place in her heart for Saltville, as that would always be her "home". Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2022 at D.R. Henderson Funeral Home. The burial will follow at the Mount Rose Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. The D.R. Henderson Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Iva June Whitlock.
