Jackie Lee Trent

Jackie Lee Trent, a devoted husband, father, and lifelong farmer, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2024 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA. at the age of 79. He was a devoted Christian who was a member of Little Flock Holiness Church. He was known for being a hard worker and was always full of energy. Jackie's free time was spent enjoying the outdoors, hunting and fishing, but with a particular passion for pursuing whitetail deer and turkey. Above all he loved his family, he cherished every moment he spent with those dear to him. Jackie will be deeply missed by his loving family and all who knew him. His memory will live on in the fields he tended, the woods he roamed, and the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to call him friend.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Della Maxwell Trent; his wife, Mazie Compton; two brothers, Earl and Lewis Trent; and four sisters, Nellie McCracken, Helen Carol, Marthie Owens, and Mary Milhorne.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, James Sykes and wife Ruth Ann, Dennis Sykes and wife Bertha, and Wayne Litton; brother, Bill Trent; sister, Carolyn Carswell; five grandchildren; special great-grandson, Christian Price; several other great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Jackie will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor Tracy Puckett officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service. The burial will follow at the Glade Spring Baptist Cemetery.
