James William "Billy" Jones, age 72, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026 follow a brief illness.  Billy was born on March 31, 1953 to the late John W. and Mildred Gillespie Jones.  Including his parents, he was preceded in death by several aunts and uncles and his best friend, Jimmy Farmer.

Billy was a graduate of Rich Valley High School where he played football for the Rich Valley "Steers".  He worked at Mouldings for many years until his retirement.  Billy was an outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish.  He said the older he got, the higher the mountains become.  He also enjoyed playing Virginia Lottery.

Those left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Serina Jones and his sister, Patty Jones.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Saltville, Va. with Pastor David Mumpower officiating.  Everyone is asked to please meet at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted to help with funeral expenses.
