Saltville, Va. James "Jimmy" Dakota Carter, age 18, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2021 from injuries received in an automobile accident. He was a 2021 graduate from Northwood High School. He was a trainer at the Saltville Lifetime Wellness Center. He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Robert Lowery and Troy and Lola Repass; Leon and Bertha Carter, and Ken and Virgie Sexton. Jimmy is survived by his mother, Leslie Carter and Scott Walton; father Mark Carter and Lori Asbury; brothers, Marcus Carter, and Logan Harris; sisters, Katelyn Doane, and Maddi Gillespie; grandparents, Ronald and Debbie Repass, Junebug Carter, and Karen and Bo Surber, great grandmother's Ruth Sharitz and Minnie Lowery; special nephew, Jaxon Carter; his very special friend, Jakeb Estridge and special family friend, Chris Sheets; and a Gazillion other family and friends. A celebration of life service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at the Common Grounds downtown Saltville with Rev. Barry Loupe officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service. Due to limited seating, please feel free to bring a chair or blanket.
