Obituary

Jane Swartz Sullivan

Blountville, TN

Jane Swartz Sullivan, of Blountville, Tennessee, age 68, passed away peacefully at her home on June 6, 2025, after a brief but courageous battle with ALS. Jane was born on November 18, 1956 and was raised in Saltville, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Naomi Swartz. Jane was a proud graduate of R.B. Worthy High School and went on to earn a master's degree in Business and Accounting from East Tennessee State University. A hardworking and dedicated professional, Jane devoted 48 years of service to United Southeast Federal Credit Union, where she served as Vice President before retiring. Jane was a woman of strong faith and a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Blountville, where she not only worshipped but also joyfully played the piano for the congregation. She truly lived out her Christian values through her love for others and her servant's heart. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and the glue that held her family together—always making sure everyone was cared for. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially watching them play sports. Jane also had a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels around her home and treasured the companionship of her beloved dogs. Her life was marked by grace, strength, and love for her family, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, David Sullivan; her two children, Crissy Powers and husband Stephen, and Chase Pendergrass and wife Katie; her three grandchildren, Alexis Powers, Brody Powers and Shepherd Pendergrass; and her fur babies, Oakley, Bella, and Olivia.
