Jean Carroll Gobble Doane, age 81, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022. Jean was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Augustus "Gus" and Myrtle McNew; her sisters, Wanda Jackson and Ellen Frye; her brothers, Jerry McNew, and Robert "Bo" McNew.

Jean is survived by her children, Archie W. Gobble (Rhonda), Dan G. Gobble (Dolly), Toby L. Doane (Shana), and Gloria J. Davidson (Austin); twelve grandchildren, Shawn, Preston, and Daniel Gobble, Angela Crigger, Kara Davis, Jaden Firestone, Colten, Dalton, Katelyn and Alyssa Doane, Jessica and Kassey Davidson; eleven great-grandchildren, Dylan, Tyson, Ashton, Caleb, Zachary, and Taylor Gobble, Hailey Graybeal, Colt and Nolan Davis, Jaxon Carter, and Eli Preece; sisters, Retta Whitehead (Gilbert), Teresa Surber (Richard), Debbie Poston (Bobby); brothers, Rick McNew (Denise), Ronnie McNew (Carmelle); several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Sharon McNew, Mary McLemore and Lena Hutton; special friends, Patty Frye, Bonnie Woodward, and Teresa Harris; and many friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor Benny Frye and Pastor Barry Loupe officiating. The burial will follow at Mount Rose Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 12 until 2 p.m. prior to the service.
