Obituary

Jefferson David "J.D." Price
Saltville, VA

Jefferson David "J.D." Price, age 77, of Saltville, Virginia, passed away on July 17, 2025, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. He was born on April 30, 1948, to the late John Bradley and Josie Price. J.D. was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend to many. He worked as a mechanic at Visador Manufacturing for 30 years, and even outside of work, he was always under the hood of something. He was a skilled mechanic through and through, and his pride and joy was his 1929 Ford, which he completely built himself. J.D. also had a passion for restoring antique radios and could often be found tinkering in his garage or helping someone else with a project. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need and was known for his generous heart and loyal friendships—especially with his fellow car enthusiasts. He had a special love for his cat "Morris Cat". J.D. was also a proud United States Army Veteran who served his country in Korea. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four brothers, James Price, Kent Price, Gary Wayne Price, and San Price; and also, two sisters, Lucille Harper and Rosie Sykes.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 60 years spent together, Virginia Williams Price; his daughter, Cynthia Price and fiancé Mike Lee; five brothers, Bobby Price, Melvin Price and wife Jody, Ralph Price and wife Betty Jean, Frank Price, and Dean Price; special brother, Jimmy Ray Brown and wife Ruby; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Mount Rose Cemetery with Pastor Daniel Garrett officiating. There will be military rites rendered by the United States Army Honor Guard as well as the V.F.W. Post #4667. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 12:30 until 1:30 prior to a procession to the cemetery.
