Obituary

Glade Spring, Va.

Jennifer Booth Camper, age 62, of Glade Spring, Virginia passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Abingdon Health and Rehab following a long battle with cancer.  Jennifer was born September 16, 1962, in Saltville, Va.  She was a member of the Glade Spring Baptist Church.  She worked up until September 13th where she retired from Highlands Community Services as a receptionist.  Jennifer loved her work family dearly. She was diagnosed on August 18, 2020, with stage 4 colorectal cancer and was given 2 years to live.  Her one wish was to be able to see her pride and joy, her sunshine, Maisie Jo start school, and she did.  Jennifer was a true definition of a fighter.  To know her, was to love her.  She was a very compassionate person who always put others before herself.  Jennifer was known for her witty sense of humor, and she never met a stranger.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her father, Jack Booth; grandparents, Malcolm (Cabbage) and Margaret Booth, Garner and Lucille McCormick; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Left to cherish her memory is her mother, Stella Booth, her son, Ian Camper (Morgan Hammond), her granddaughter and her sunshine, Maisie Jo Camper; Randy Camper (Ian's father); stepchildren, Josh and Tasha Camper; sisters, Angie Booth, and Stephanie Gregory (Scottie); nieces, Laken Snead, and Haley Moody (Lucas); great nieces, Madison and Paislee Snead, Madison Croxdale; great nephew, Parker Snead; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a world of friends.

Jennifer was always thinking of others which led her to donate her body to Restore Life for Science.  The family would like to thank her special friend, Cindy Coleman Hughes, the staff of Ballad Bristol Cancer Center, and Abingdon Health and Rehab for taking such good care of her.

A celebration of life service for Jennifer Booth Camper will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Glade Spring Baptist Church with Pastor Doug Ballew officiating and speakers, Tommy and Travis DeBusk.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.
