Jerry Wayne Hayden, age 53, passed away peacefully at Johnston Memorial Hospital on Monday, July 8, 2024. He was born to the late William "Shorty" and Nadine "Billie" Hayden on May 10, 1971, in Smyth County, Virginia. He was a man of simple pleasures, finding joy in fishing, reading his Bible, and spending time with his cherished family.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Hayden, and his nephew, Jeffrey O'Quinn.

Left to cherish his memory are his four sisters, Sandra Osborne of Abingdon, VA, Carol Stevenson of Marion, VA, Robin Blevins and husband Bobby of Glade Spring, VA, Tina Kegley of Rural Retreat, VA, and Sally Reed of Saltville, VA; one brother, Bobby Hayden of Glade Spring, VA; special niece, Michelle Puckett; and five nieces and two nephews.

A graveside service to celebrate Jerry's life will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Mount Rose Cemetery in the mausoleum with Pastor Tracy Puckett officiating. Everyone is asked to please meet at the cemetery.
