Jerry Hodge, of Saltville, VA, entered the presence of his Savior on November 4, 2025 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA. He was born on July 25, 1933 in Plasterco, VA. to the late Guley and Lena Dishman Hodge. He resided in Saltville, VA. for over 30 years, and worked for the Smyth County School System in transportation and food service. He honorably served in the United States Army and served in the Korean War where he received a silver star in recognition of his faithful service. He attended Christian Faith Ministries in Saltville, VA., and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War and the American Legion.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Betty Ann Gross Hodge; Son, Mark Hodge, and five siblings.
Those left to cherish his memory are his Daughter, Kimberly Parido; Son, William Hodge; Grandchildren, Tyler Chrisco and wife Joelene, Whitney Solano and husband Alex, Hayley McCready and husband Ian, Kyle Parido and wife Hannah, Rochelle Roch and husband Dennis, Matthew Hodge and wife Corrina and Rebekah Hodge; Great Grand Children, Jordyn, Jadyn, Landyn, Braxdyn, Trisdyn, Cheyenne, Alex, Carter, Coral, Dominic, Aiden, Rory, Addison, Bethany, Braden, Juliet, Alyzah, Korrah and Thacher; Sister, Margaret King and husband Bob; Daughter-in-Law, Andrea Hodge; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
He will also be remembered fondly by special friends Barbara Call, Briley and Bailey Bordwine, Julie Moore, Crystal Knap, Mark and Brenda Chaney, Belinda Conrath, April Tolbert Gomez, and James Anderson.
The staff and friends at PaPa's will miss sharing morning breakfast with him, and Riverfront will feel his absence during their familiar dinner gatherings. His presence brought warmth to every table he sat at.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday November 12th, 2025 at Glenwood Cemetery in Bristol, TN. at 12pm with pastor Michael Halsey officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the VFW Honor Guard of Marion, VA., DAV Chapter 39 Honor Guard of Bristol, TN., and the Army Honor Guard.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at D. R. Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville, VA with Pastor Mike Halsey officiating.
Following the celebration of life service, food will be served at Christian Faith Ministries, 45 Old Quarry Road, Saltville, VA.
