Jerry Dexter Johnson, age 69, took his heavenly flight on Monday, March 27, 2023 at Johnston Memorial Hospital surrounded by his wife and loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents Sadie Trent and Earl Johnson; a baby boy; and his late wife "Sissy".

He is survived by his wife Leslie Johnson of the home; father, Howard Trent; daughters, Michelle Cregger and husband Josh Meadowview, VA, Chasity Lamie and husband Jake of Saltville, VA, Samantha Lester and husband Joey of Emory, VA; son, Nick Tolbert and wife Audra of Marion, VA; brothers, Bobby Jonhson and Teresa of Glade Spring, VA, Earl Johnson and wife Kathrine of Buchanan County, VA, and Junior Trent; sisters, Jane Cook of Glade Spring, VA, and Ruth Ann; granddaughters, Kailey and Kenzie Cregger, Kiersten and Kendyll Talbert; great-granddaughter, Bexley Black; several nieces and nephews; and a special pup, Sophia who was his world.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Glade Spring Baptist Cemetery with Pastor Charles Williams officiating. Everyone is asked to please meet at the cemetery.
