John Chapman, age 77, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Valley Nursing Home in Chilhowie, Va. John was born in Saltville, Va. on March 18, 1945 to the late Garland and Edna Jackson Chapman. He was an employee at Olin Corporation in Saltville for several years. He was a member of the Miracle Mountain Holiness Church in Saltville, Va. John

loved listening to gospel music.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by brothers, Rev. Franklin Chapman, Jimmy Chapman, Melvin Chapman, and Tom Chapman; sisters, Margaret Havens, Martha Boardwine, Trula Compton, and Alice Hartzog.

John is survived by his wife of 53 years, Becky Davidson Chapman; step daughter, Kimberly Duff; brothers, Charles Chapman and Dewey Chapman; grandchildren, Laken Chestnut, Megan Robinson, and Victor Thompson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 12, 2023 at Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor Stacy Evans and Pastor Frankie Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Saltville, Va. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
