John Oscar "Cowboy" Maloyed, age 68, passed away at his home on Saturday, November 8, 2025.  He was born February 1, 1957 to the late Howard and Mary Elizabeth Maloyed.  Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Howard Michael "Mike" Maloyed.

John was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Saltville and Rich Valley.  He enjoyed being a member and attending the meetings.  He liked farming, his old cars and most of all taking care of his cats.

Those left behind to cherish his memory is his two daughters, Mary Ann Maloyed of Wytheville, VA and Freeda Chinchilla of Yorktown, VA; one sister, Robin Maloyed; three grandsons; three granddaughters; and many friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at Ridgedale cemetery in Saltville, VA with Reverend Jack Jenkins officiating.  Everyone is asked to please meet at the cemetery.
