John Wayne McGlocklin passed away November 8, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.  John was born October 17, 1943, to the late Oakley and Roxie McGlocklin. He served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam veteran. He was injured in combat and was presented with the Purple Heart.  John enjoyed hunting, fishing, bingo, and playing cards with his family.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife Nancy; his daughter Emily Boothe; granddaughter, Lillian McGlocklin; brother James McGlocklin; sister April McGlocklin; and a dear companion, Margaret Cardwell.

Left to cherish his memory are his brothers Roger McGlocklin, Frank McGlocklin, Robert McGlocklin, Ronald McGlocklin, David McGlocklin, and Michael McGlocklin; two sisters, Elizabeth Hess and Patricia Kestner; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for John McGlocklin will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville, Va. with Pastors Mark and Brenda Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring, Va.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.  Pallbearers will be Chad McGlocklin, James McGlocklin, Lance McGlocklin, Austin Blevins, Archie Justice, Mike Kestner, and Tanner Pruitt.
