Saltville, VA Johnnie James Woodward, age 99, passed away on February 8, 2021 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. He was born to the late Harry and Barbara H. Woodward on August 24, 1921. Johnnie was a World War II Army Veteran. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Christine Kestner Woodward; four sisters, Della Kestner, Frances Flournoy, Myrtle Allison, Dorothy Marshall; and one brother, Joseph Woodward. He is survived by his sister, Mae W. Patrick; several nieces and nephews; two special nieces, Betty Campbell and Faye Keen; his neighbors who he considered family, Emma Call, Sylvia Brinkley, Wayne and Jennifer Rhea, and Don Rhea. A graveside service will take place at 2p.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at the Mount Rose Cemetery Mausoleum with Pastor Wade Kestner officiating.
