Johnny W. McGhee, Jr., age 56, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family.  Johnny was born September 7, 1968, in Saltville, Va.  He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny W. McGhee, Sr., his maternal grandparents, Raymond and Bessie Carter; paternal grandparents, Raymond and Dorothy McGhee; and his mother-in-law, Mary Able.

Johnny was a one-of-a-kind special man.  He loved his family and friends.

Johnny is survived by his wife and best friend of 44 years, Teresa McGhee; his mother, Linda McGhee, his son, Christopher McGhee and Crystal; and special grandchildren that he loved dearly, Braelyn McGhee and Zoee McGhee; two sisters, Sonia Harper and husband Bradley, and Tammy Roe; sisters-in-law, Terry Hess, and Melissa Mazza; special niece, Sarah Vines and special nephews, Justin Harper and Logan Harper; special aunts, Susan Carter and Mary McGhee; and special uncle, Robert Carter and Aunt Dollie; special friends and helpers, Sue Thomas, Liza Kennedy, and Justin Harper; and many family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Elizabeth Cemetery in Saltville, Va. with Pastor Barry Loupe officiating.  The family will receive friends at Henderson Funeral Home from 11:30 until 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.  Pallbearers will be Wayne Carter, Joe Carter, Huck Prater, Bobby Hess, Aaron Wilson, Jay Porter, and Matthew Kennedy.  Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Hess "Poe", and Family Care of Chilhowie.
