Joyce Ruth Clear Guy, age 75, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Johnson Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Joyce was born on September 20, 1948, in Saltville, VA to her parents, Cecil Clifton Clear and Mary June Howell Clear Meade. Joyce was a graduate of Rich Valley High School and after graduation, she attended college. She was a business owner of her own restaurant which was named "Matties", for her grandmother Mattie Clear whom she lived with and her grandfather, John Albert Clear. Later she worked as a manager at the Navy Exchange at Pax River in Lexington Park, Maryland until her retirement.

Joyce's number one priority was her family, always wanting them close by. She taught them respect, family values, and good morals. She was a very strong lady and was the force behind her family. Joyce never gave up or turned anyone away when they needed her. She was a wonderful wife to her husband and the love of her life, John Frank Guy. They would have been married 46 years on August 27, 2024. Joyce was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend.

Including her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her son, Michael Duane Laird; one brother, John Frederick Clear; grandchildren, Ashli Mayln Pauley, and Owen Michael Laird; an aunt, Carol Clear Hayden, who she was raised with and was always more like a sister.

Including her loving husband, Frank, she is survived by her children, Monica Michelle Pauley, Tammy Lynn Clark, Charles Michael (Mike) Pauley and daughter-in-law, Joy Renee Pauley, Janeen Guy Laird; grandchildren, Dennis James Mastin, II (Jamie), Christian Amanda Clark Baglio, Cody John Adam Clark, Kimberly Michele Pauley, and Evan Duane Laird; and 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Kemper N. Meade, Gilmer Meade; sister, Cathy Hart Meade; her fur baby "Armani" and many other special relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Joyce Ruth Clear Guy will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 26, 2024, at Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville, VA. with Pastor Daniel Garrett officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:00
