Obituary

Glade Spring, Va.

Justin Hugh Adair, 39, of Glade Spring, Virginia, passed away alongside his beloved wife, Gwendolyn Adair, due to a sudden medical event on Sunday, August 31, 2025.

Born on October 23, 1985, in Abingdon, Virginia, Justin was the cherished son of Joe and Debi Adair.

Justin was a charismatic and vibrant man who dearly loved to make others laugh. He had a big personality but an even bigger smile. A natural-born storyteller, he drew from a life rich in experiences. Loyal and steadfast, he was always ready to check in on his loved ones, lend a helping hand, and stand in the corner of those who needed him most.

He was an avid Virginia Tech football fan, an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting, and he and his wife shared a passion for riding and working on motorcycles together. He was a father to a very beloved daughter, Maletta. Justin and Gwen also shared the love of their dog, Suzy, who brought them much joy. Justin was a member of the IBEW 934 union and was very proud of that brotherhood.

Above all, Justin was a devoted disciple of Christ. Lifelong member of Byars-Cobbs United Methodist Church in Glade Spring Virginia. Saved last year in a special ceremony with his mother, Debi, his faith became the cornerstone of his life. He encouraged others daily with devotionals, prayer, and praise, always placing God first. Through his faith, Justin amassed so much personal growth and faced the future with hope.

He was preceded in death by his infant brother and sister, Bryan and Erica Adair; and his grandparents, Thomas and Mary Adair, and James and Jackie Nutter, all of Glade Spring, Virginia.

Justin's absence leaves a profound void in the lives of his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Gwendolyn Adair of Glade Spring, Virginia; much loved daughter, Maletta Adair of Saltville, Virginia; his parents, Joe and Debi Adair of Glade Spring, Virginia; his sister, Erin (Bradley) Ball of Cleburne, Texas; his nephews, Benjamin and Conor Ball of Cleburne, Texas; his mother-in-law Debby Teasley; niece, Elaina Slagle all of Bristol, Virginia; stepdaughter, Montana Raines of Blacksburg, Virginia.; brother in law Jessee Culberston of Glade Spring, Virginia. Countless cousins, many aunts, uncles and friends. Special friend Scotty DeBord and the groundman crew that he worked alongside with.

Burial will follow at Mount Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring.
