Katherine Delores "Jean" Bise, age 90, passed away September 27, 2023. She was devoted to God and her family. Valedictorian of Rich Valley class of 1951, she always instilled a love of learning to her family. She especially enjoyed researching her genealogy.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Otis Bise, Jr., her father and mother, William C. and Georgia Lee Orr Moore; eight brothers, W. C. Jr., Robert, Mack Henry, Bruce, Vance, Willis, Jerry, and Don Moore; two sisters, Ruth Carter, and JoAnn Moore.

She is survived by her daughter, Freda Bise Testerman and husband, John of Chilhowie, VA; grandson, Lee Testerman and wife Beth of Chilhowie,VA; great -granddaughter, Alanna Testerman of San Diego, CA.

The family would like to express their gratitude to staff at Valley Health Care Center for their loving care.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Dunn officiating. The burial will follow at Mount Rose Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 1 until 2p.m. prior to the service.
