Bristol, Va. Kathy Sue Johnson, age 61, left us at Johnston Memorial Hospital on March 2, 2021 after a lengthy illness. She lived in Abingdon for years before moving to Bristol into the Carriage Hill Condominiums where she was prior to her illness. Kathy had an Associate in Applied Science degree (Criminal Justice) from Virginia Highlands Community College that she was extremely proud of. Kathy has been employed in many different fields in her life from a housekeeper to cleaning surgical instruments in an operating room in Tampa, Florida. She was definitely one of a kind. She was a wonderful friend and mother and she will be greatly missed. Kathy is preceded in death by her adoptive father; Raymond Johnson and her adoptive mother; Beverly Johnson both of Tampa, Florida. She is survived by one son; Shannon Christopher Graham of Bristol, Va.; and dear friend's, Shannon and Rodney Collins. We would like to say a special thank you to Gregory's Assisted Living and Barbara Gregory for their care of Kathy in her last days.
