Kenneth Ray Coe

Kenneth Ray Coe, age 82, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 1, 1941, in Saltville, Virginia. Kenneth had a long career with the Highway Department working as an inspector. Outside of his career he enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and cookouts with his friends and family. He was a proud lifetime member of the Glade Spring Volunteer Fire Department. Above all, Kenneth was a Christian, a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Martha Cleatus Mumpower and stepfather, David Mumpower; his father, Sexton Coe; and his brother, Harold Coe.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 59 years, Janie Sage Coe of Glade Spring, VA; his son, Chad Coe and wife Marie of Charlotte, NC; his grandson, Dylan Coe; three sisters, Patsy Smith, Donna Neal, and Susie Worley; four brothers, Dwight and David Mumpower, and Mike and Darrell Coe; and also, several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor David Mumpower officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 5 until 7 p.m. prior to the service. An entombment service will be conducted on Wednesday Morning at 11 a.m. at Mount Rose Cemetery Mausoleum.
