Kenneth Wayne "Kenny" Hockett, age 64, of Saltville, Va., passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022, in his home. He was born on March 12, 1958, to the late Oliver Frank Hockett and Ollie Gladys Henderson Hockett in Smyth County, Va. He was an avid gardener and loved to dote on his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Cecil Hockett, Oliver Michael Hockett, and Paul Wadus Hockett; sister, Nellie Louise Hockett; many aunts and uncles; one nephew; several cousins; and many friends. Left to cherish Kenny's memory is his wife of 29 years, Elizabeth Hope Hockett; his sons, Bryan Wayne Hockett (Joyce), Kenneth Wayne "Kenny" Hockett, II, and Thomas Wayne Hockett; his daughters, Paula Hockett Bradshaw and Amber Hockett (Joseph Cook); sister, Rachel Annette Hockett Hericks (David); brothers, Robert Dale Hockett, Thomas Jack Hockett; grandchildren, Makayla Remines, Logan Remines, Brooke Hockett, Waverly Cook, and Wyatt Cook; great grandchild, Owen Wallace, many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and more friends than one could count. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 P.M., on Monday, August 15, 2022, at the D.R. Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor David Robins officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., on Monday August 15, 2022, at the D.R. Henderson Funeral Home.
