"Aldo" Ratcliff
Apr 19, 1953 — Aug 19, 2024
Larry Wayne "Aldo" Ratcliff
Saltville, VA
Larry Wayne "Aldo" Ratcliff, age 71, passed away unexpectedly on Monday August 19, 2024 at Johnson City Medical Center. He was born on April 19, 1953 to the late Blaire and Betty Ratcliff. He was a beloved father, friend, and avid outdoorsman. He was known for his deep love of nature, spending countless hours hunting, fishing, driving around in the mountains, and simply enjoying Gods creations. Larry was a passionate gun enthusiast, and his love for shooting led him to compete in various shooting competitions. His dedication to the sport was even more evident in his help with founding the North Fork Sportsman's club which is a shooting range and gun club in Saltville. Larry could often be found at the Sportsmen's Den, where he shared his many adventures and stories with friends. He was a friend to all who knew him, always ready with a tale or a piece of advice. But above all, Larry was most proud of his family, especially his children. He supported them in every way he could and took great joy in sharing their accomplishments with others.
In addition to his parents, Larry is also preceded in death by one son, Joshua Ratcliff; two sisters, Charlene R. Shade, and Delilah "Dee Dee" Frye; and his special companion, Tabitha "Tabby" Henderson.
Left to cherish his memory are his two children, Amy Branson and Dusty Ratcliff; four grandchildren, Levi Gillespie, Logan Branson, Kaden Ratcliff, and Austyn Ratcliffe; nieces and nephews, Johnna, Shane, Trey, and Shannon.
Special thanks to Dan Wilson for his friendship and care during this difficult time.
A memorial service to honor Larry will take place on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 7 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor Barry Loupe officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 5 until 7 p.m. prior to the service.
A celebration of life service will also be held at a later date at the North Fork Sportsman's Club shooting range.
