Obituary

Walkersville, MD Lois Jean Ellis, age 85, of Walkersville, Maryland made that beautiful and peaceful crossover into Heaven Dec. 14, 2020. With her family by her side, she passed away in the hospital after complications from a serious fall. Born and raised in Saltville, she was one of five children of the late Woodrow S. and Virgie M. (Chapman) Routh. She had a wonderful, full life on this earth. She was a devout Christian and a member of The Church of God of Prophecy, Glade Spring. She has been such an incredible spiritual role model for many. Although there were so many, one of her favorite bible verses was the 23rd Psalms. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, William Rudolph Ellis, Jr. She is survived by her children; Gail Linton and husband, Larry of Frederick, Maryland, Sissy Riley and husband Butch of Walkersville, Maryland, Jo Waters of Lutherville, Maryland and Zoanna Brown and husband Tom of Gerrardstown, West Virginia; her sister, Zelda Nutter of Saltville; brothers, Dean Routh of Saltville, Gordon Routh and wife, Regina of Bristol, Tennessee, and Doug Routh of Frederick, Maryland; grandchildren, Pamela Beanum and husband Rich of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Michael Waters and wife Kari of Gwynn Oaks, Maryland, Angelica Muffarij and husband John of Bethesda, Maryland, and Brendan Kania of Gerrardsdstown, West Virginia; great grandchildren, Chance and Sloane Beanum of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Michael Waters, Jr. of Baltimore, Maryland, and Isla Waters of Gwynn Oaks, Maryland; many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 11:00 A. M. at Mount Pleasant Cemetery with Pastor Danny Medford officiating. Everyone is asked to please meet at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, celebrate Lois' life by donating to the Church of God of Prophecy Building Fund, P. O. Box 529, Glade Spring, Virginia 24340.
