Obituary

Castlewood, Va. Lois Louise Carter Moore, age 93, of Castlewood, Va. formerly of Rich Valley, Va., went to the arms of her savior on Sunday, May 29th at Holston Valley Medical Center. Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Moore; her father, William Bradley Carter, her mother, Hattie Mae Carter; and brothers, Curtis Carter, Ralph Carter, and Earl Carter. Louise loved life and had many passions. She loved flowers and enjoyed planting them every Spring until her hands would no longer allow her to work in them. She spent endless hours working word find puzzles. She loved New York Yankee baseball and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Mostly, she loved being with her "little family" and cherished the times they spent together. She loved her little companion, Emerson, the dog, and took great pride in the fact that she was the one who trained him. Left to honor her memory are her son, Lester (Carolyn) Moore of Clintwood, Va.; daughter, Caroline Sabo, Castlewood, Va.; granddaughters, Leslie Mullins, and Elizabeth Sabo (Chris) Vance; grandson, James Hensley (Lindsay), of Southern Pines, NC; great grandchildren, William and Emily Mullins, Lucas Cress, and Lily Hensley; sister, June Buchanan; sister-in-law, Jean Bise (Otis, Jr.); and brother-in-law, Don Moore (Wanda). Funeral services for Louise Moore will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2022 at D. R. Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville, Va. Services will be conducted by family and friends. Visitation will be from 11:00 until 1:00 prior to the service. Committal will follow at Ridgedale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brad Carter, Michael Carter, Jim Carter, Chris Vance, William Mullins, and John Sabo. Honorary pallbearers will be James Hensley, James Buchanan, Lenny Robbins, and Cody Gray. The family would like to especially thank caregivers, Jackie Meade and Katie Ingle for their love and kindness to their mother. They would also like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Holston Valley for all they did to keep their mother comfortable. Online condolences may be expressed at drhendersonfuneralhome.com.
