Obituary

Roanoke, Va. Louise Johnson Poore Norris, 80 of Roanoke, Va. went to be with her Lord on Monday August 30, 2021 after a series of illnesses. She was born to the late Charlie Ray & Ethel Martha Jones Johnson on May 2, 1941 in Glade Spring, Virginia. Early in life she had a successful career in numerous home sales presentation positions such as Miracle Maid, Tupperware and also worked several years at both Krispy Kreme doughnut locations while living in Roanoke, Va. She later returned to live in Glade Spring and was employed in the furniture industry. She met the love of her life, Edward Norris while in Glade Spring and they married on July 7, 1990 and later moved to Roanoke, Va. where she worked for many years as a caregiver at Shenandoah Homes and Friendship Manor. She was a talented artist with so many crafts, loved painting, cooking, baking beautiful decorative cakes, fishing and especially spending time with Ed and her family. Louise was predeceased in death by her brothers; Charles Johnson, Marvin Johnson, Thomas Johnson, Douglas Johnson, Harold Johnson, Samuel Johnson; Sisters, Victoria Johnson, Virginia Beavers, Lydia Davis, Annie Davis, Betty Ashley; son, Brian Poore; previous husband, Oliver Poore; and grandson, Andrew Mullen. She is survived by her husband Edward Norris; brother, Edward Johnson; sister, Sandra Noble and husband Robert; sons, Jeffrey and wife Joyce, Gregory and Martha, Charles and wife Stacy; Stepson, Mark and wife Carol Norris; grandson, Charlie Poore II; granddaughter, Samantha Cable; numerous great grandchildren; special friends Carolyn Rowland,and Eva Kerenyi and numerous other cousins, relatives and friends. She loved all her neighbors and friends and knew how to brighten up a room. Louise and her family would like to thank all the wonderful people who cared for her during her illness at Springtree Healthcare, and Carilion Roanoke Memorial especially the 10th Floor Palliative Care and Hospice. Graveside services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Mount Rose Cemetery, Glade Spring, Va. with Rev. Greg Hetherington officiating.
