Lynn Cardwell Hamm

Clinchburg, Va.

Lynn Hamm of Clinchburg, Va. passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, in her sleep at her home. She was born on November 10, 1959, in Saltville, VA, a daughter of Ryburn and the late Brenda Cardwell. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Walter and Olivene Cardwell and Kay and Dorothy Cahill.

Lynn grew up in Saltville and graduated from R.B. Worthy High School. She was a former employee of Washington County Service Authority in Abingdon, VA and the Petro Station in Glade Spring, VA.

Lynn was a loving wife, wonderful mother, adoring grandmother, and a wonderful daughter to her father. She was a wonderful cook and took great pride in her flower garden.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 38 years, Rodney Hamm; son, Jared Hamm; granddaughter, Sophie Hamm, who was the joy of her life; stepdaughter, Tiffany Phelps; step-grandson, Justin Hamm; her father, Ryburn Cardwell; sister, Mitzie Stables; nephew, Derek Coleman; two aunts, Ann Rector and Pat Frye; her special friends, Penny Blevins and Carla Robertson.

Following Lynn's request, her earthly body will be donated to science with the hope of helping others.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Baumgardner officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 6 until 7 p.m. prior to the service.
