Marie Ionia Eula Jackson Snead, age 90, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025.  Marie was born September 3, 1934 to the late Willie and Nellie Gay Puckett Jackson in Saltville, Va.  She loved working in her flower garden and had a "green thumb" and could grow most any flower.  Marie enjoyed cooking and loved feeding her family and spending time with them.

Including her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Charles Robert Snead; sons, Clifford Snead, and George Snead; daughter, Debbie Heath; granddaughter, Melanie Snead, and grandson, "Little" Charlie Snead; brothers, Mike Jackson and Harmon Jackson; sisters, Bertie Dancy, Lola Brown and husband Gene, and Janie Taylor and husband Fullen.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory is her daughter, Erma Prater and husband Robert; sons, Michael Snead and wife Annette, Anthony Snead and wife Kim, and James Snead; 11 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Marie Ionia Snead will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville, Va. with Pastor Robert Prater officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.  A committal service will follow at Mount Rose Cemetery Mausoleum in Glade Spring.  Grandchildren and great grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
