Marie Edwards Neal, age 94, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at her home. She was born to the late Roby and Lillian H. Edwards on April 16, 1929. Marie married the love of her life, Wiley L. Neal in 1957. She was a dedicated and determined individual in all aspects of her life. She was a graduate of Radford College where she studied business. After her education she pursued a long career in banking eventually retiring in 1996. She was a faithful member of Wesley's Chapel United Methodist Church. She was very passionate about spending time in her garden, and making sure her house was always spotless.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 61 years of marriage, Wiley L. Neal; and her four siblings, Lucille Hicks, Ruby Lawson, Roby L. Edwards, Jr., and Alleen Redd.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Leola Neal Griffin and husband Greg of Saltville, VA, Jeana Neal Borman and husband John of Denver, NC; three granddaughters, Erin Griffin, Lauren Griffin, and Celeste Borman; several nieces and nephews; and a special life long friend, Hazel Turner.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Wesley's Chapel United Methodist Church in Tannersville, VA, with Pastor Katie Beth Boardwine and Pastor Lisa Bryant officiating. The burial will follow at Holston Conference Emory and Henry Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 10 until 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
