Marilyn Suzette "Sue" Morand, age 79, passed away on August 21, 2025, at UNC Health in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Sue was a devoted loving wife, mother, Nana and grandma. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Union Grove for 45 years. Before retiring, her entire professional career was at UNC as admin for 39 years. She had a green thumb and joined the Chapel Hill Orchid Society. She was a wonderful painter and sold a few of her paintings. She was the original foodie before being a foodie was a thing loving everything from home cooking to fine dining. She will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 29 years, JG Morand; parents, Joseph Eloyce and Marie Jenkins; sisters, Joyce and Carolyn.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Tony Morand and wife, Amy; daughter, Heather Morand and significant other, Marshall Massey; grandchildren, William and Samantha Morand, Austin and George Bryant; great-grandchildren, Silas and Jace Bryant.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 25, 2025 at 3 p.m. at Henerson Funeral Home with Rev. Lindsay Ballance Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Crabtree Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tony Morand, Will Morand, Austin Bryant, Patrick Shook and Chris Penland.

In lieu of flowers, Sue requests donations to her grandchildren be mailed to 19423 Fridley Lane, Cornelius, NC 28031.
