Glade Spring

Obituary

Glade Spring, Virginia

Mary Louise Hess Dale, age 54, passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, June 1, 2026.

Mary attended Patrick Henry High School, later earning her GED and continuing her education through college studies. She worked for several years at the Petro Truck Stop in Glade Spring, where she enjoyed meeting and helping others. In her free time, Mary enjoyed watching Little House on the Prairie, canning, crocheting, and spending time outdoors fishing. She was a faithful servant of God whose faith remained an important part of her life. Mary shared a special bond with her sister, and the two enjoyed many outings together, especially trips to enjoy crab legs. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend, but Mary especially cherished being "Mamaw" to her grandbabies. While her family will miss her dearly, they find comfort in knowing that her suffering has ended and that she is now resting peacefully in the loving hands of Jesus.

She was preceded in death by her father, J.C. Hess; mother and stepfather, Janet Elswick and James Blevins.

Mary is survived by her husband, Danny Dale; children, Koda Spencer, J.C. Spencer, Chavez Spencer, Daniel Dale, and Crystal Danielle Rake; brother, Jamie Blevins; sister, Tina Worley; brother-in-law and special friend, Tim Worley; four grandchildren, Memphis Spencer, Timber Spencer, Angel Spencer, and Noah Spencer; several nieces and nephews, including special nephews, Josh Worley and Brandon Worley; her dog, Sadie, who is so ugly she's cute; her Antioch House of Prayer church family; and a host of many other loving friends.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Jason Nunley officiating.

A reception will follow the services at Antioch House of Prayer, 19479 North Fork River Road, Abingdon, VA 24210.
