Mary Helen Hughes Chilhowie, VA Mary Helen Hughes, age 66, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was born to the late James and Mary Hayden. Mary loved sewing, listening to music, and spending time in her flower garden. She was a retired employee of Southwestern State Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her daughter, Heather Shumate. She is survived by her boyfriend, Clarence Greer; her three grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Cory, and Colton Hamm; two brothers, David Hayden (Marlene), Charlie Hayden and wife Donna; three sisters, Rosie Dunford, Lucy Frye and husband Sherman, and Debbie Denny; her special parents, Gene and Ruby French; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Mount Rose Cemetery with Pastor Barry Loupe officiating.
