Mary Louise Prater

Mary Louise Prater, age 80, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at Danville Center for Heath and Rehab in Danville, KY. Mary was born on February 6, 1944, to the late Claude and Myrtle Jackson Prater in Saltville, Va. Including her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Elmer Prater.

Mary loved taking care of her cats. She loved her family, enjoyed gardening and loved the river.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Rebecca Cook and husband Josh of Junction City, KY; one brother, Ralph Prater of Junction City, KY; and one sister, Betty Hunt and husband James of Saltville, VA.

A graveside service will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Mount Rose Cemetery Mausoleum in Glade Spring, VA. with Pastor Daniel Garrett officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville, VA.
